I also made 2 journal covers. Well, one is totally finished. The other is halfway finished. I need to tweak the directions. The cover came out super tight. The button closure looks like its about to pop. I added a pocket for pencils on the inside. It looks pretty good.
OK. Totally not quilting related. I put on a dress Sunday for Church and it was too tight. I have got to lose a little weight. Maybe if I announce it to the world I might actually do it! I've seen this button for improve your butt challenge. So I am jumping in. There's no more ice cream in the house! The weather should be cooling off, so I won't have any excuse not to lose weight. I don't want to be Twiggy, I actually like curves. I just don't want to buy new pants!
Happy Quilting

Hey I like those pin cushions...I've never made any, but they sure look like cute little gifts. About the weight loss: i posted it on my blog and I've lost 22 pounds since. I'm so proud - and if I can do it-you can do it!!!So go for it...The journal covers are nice too...do you have a pattern for those?

The pincushions are fun and probably addictive. Great job on the 22 pounds! That's incredible. The journal covers are an adaptaion of one I saw on the web. Here's the link http://www.vanessachristenson.com/2010/01/tutorial-composition-book-cover.html

Cute journal covers. I love the idea of the pocket for a pen.
I was going to ask about the journal covers but you answered before I finished reading. One friend in my group made a cover with inside zipper pockets, She said ahe used a pattern but I don't know where she got it in english while living in Japan. I'll have to check out your suggestion.
