Wip and video

After a few more of my AAQI quilts sold I was finally inspired to make a new one.  I have been living in a quilt black hole lately.  I took a small piece I made for a quilted book two years ago, and used it as the basis for an AAQI quilt.  I still need to add more beading and binding. 

This is the original (the swimsuit bottoms come off!)

This is the new quilt, the bottoms are sewn on and I don't think I will be writing on it.

The quilt is smaller because it had to meet AAQI standards, but I think it is still cute.

Sewin' Again...

I have finally gotten a little sewing done.  It's not quilting, although it might be turned into one later.  Daughter #1 has a history project on Betsy Ross.  How can you do a report on Betsy Ross without making a flag.  I cut the fabric and ironed while she sewed the pieces together.  The stars are fused, I wasn't about to applique stars!  The edge of the field is left unsewn so she can demonstrate how Betsy would have sewn the flag by hand.

For those of you who may not know this, Betsy Ross made the first US flag in 1776. 

In other news....
Three more of my AAQI  quilts have found happy homes.  Yippee!  I am now only $160 from my $1000 promise.  I only have 2 quilts left on my page.

AAQI video

AAQI has a video on YouTube of it's March Priority Quilts.  The quilts are up for auction from March 1 - March 10.  Bid high!

On the home front....I have a job!!! I am now a 7th and 8th grade math teacher!
